Warm Fuzzies

Ashton's teacher sent home a note asking me to make some "warm fuzzies" for the class. She said they could be as simple or as complicated as I wanted. So I got the supplies and went to work. The girls helped with a few and then after I put them to bed, I continued creating. Before I knew it, I had made 20 little critters and had really had a ball. When Tod came out to the kitchen, I think he was a little weirded out by the colony of creatures I had sitting on the table. Anway, it was a lot of fun and a good way to let out some creativity!

Four States Fair and Rodeo

There is nothing quite like a field trip! Last Wednesday, I got to go with Ashton's kindergarten class to the Four States Fair and Rodeo. It was so much fun! Jordan's preschool went the same day so she was able to meet up with us for part of the time. We loved seeing all the animals and the rodeo demonstration. The kids liked the games and learning how to milk a cow. This whole experience reminded me of how much I miss teaching elementary school and how I do look forward to being in that setting again. Another highlight of the day was getting to know Ashton's classmates and her teacher better.

A Great Walk...for a Great Cause!

Last weekend I surprised my family by flying to Utah for the annual Guts and Glory Walk to benefit research for Crohn's disease. Of course, this is something that we do in honor of my mom with the hope that other families can find cures and treatments for their loved ones who are battling this disease (and other similar ones). My sister Mel headed up a team last year, and this year, I just had to be there! Tod helped make it all possible and Regan and I were able to join everyone at Sugar House Park in Salt Lake City for this wonderful event. I wanted to thank everyone who came to the walk- I know my mom truly loved everyone who was there and would have loved to join us in doing two of her favorite things- walking and talking!!!

A New Blog!

So, I've finally made the move...and here is my new blog. I like the layout of this site better and most of my friends use blogspot, so I thought I'd switch over as well. Plus, it seems easier to post pictures and hopefully I can post more often (which probably only matters to me). Hopefully, all of you will still read my blog because I think it is a great way to stay in touch and stay connected!
