Christmas Eve

Our Christmas Eve started very early with a trip to the doctor's office at 7:00 AM!  Cole tested positive for influenza A and Regan had an eye infection...so that was that.  We tried not to let it get us down and adjusted our day to still carry out some traditions!

Just like last year, we headed to a local care center for some Christmas caroling.  This year it was just me and the girls along with a couple of friends.  But for me, it was the highlight of the day, and I think the girls felt really good about it too.

Afterwards, I asked the girls to pose with some of the residents...what special people with a lifetime of experiences and knowledge...glad to bring them a little Christmas cheer!

When we got home, it was time to make some Christmas sugar cookies!

Cole was feeling pretty rough, so Tod stayed home with the boys while we went to our friends for our annual Christmas Eve potluck.  I wished we could have all been together, but we still had a great time.  We left a little early to get home to our boys and have our Christmas Eve traditions...opening our Christmas Bag from Dad and Pat (always love this so much!), reading Luke 2 and "Twas the Night Before Christmas", new PJs and the sibling gift exchange (kids were so excited!!!!).  Christmas Eve is one of my very favorite times together as a family.

Cole gave Ashton some new books (he thought it was boring but she loved it!).
Luke gave Jordan some markers and legos.

Ashton gave Regan a Nerf bow and arrow and basketball.

And Jordan gave Cole a Nerf bow and arrow and basketball too!

Regan gave Luke a big truck.

It was a really great night...I love the sibling gift exchange.  Lots of thought is put into what to buy and the kids are so happy to give to their person....and of course, excited to receive too!
